Everyone knows about the fascinating subject of ghost stations on the London Underground system. Does anyone know if there are any ghost stations on the Osaka subway system or the connecting lines (like Hankyu, Kintetsu)? And if so where and when were they shut? The Osaka subway system is relatively young so maybe there aren’t or maybe there are one or two. If you don’t know, do you know where we can find out?

Not exactly a station but the Sennichimae line at Tanimachi 9-chome has part of the station closed. If you walk through the underground walkway between uehonmachi and tani-9, you will see a boarded up old subway entrance. It blends in pretty well though. Not anywhere near as exciting as a ghost station but its about all I’ve come across.

I must see if I can spot it and take a snap. A whole section of the Kujo station on the Chuo line is closed too. You can see it from the outside. That’s also why the numbering of exits start at No. 5.
