Hi Tim,
Yes it was your email. I don’t know how I lost it.

I don’t know much about Kobe, I know there is the shopping area around Sannomiya and the Habourland area where the Kobe Tower is. Also there is a smallish China Town at Motomachi. Since tomorrow is Chinese New Year there will be events and performances there.

As for Namba, you’ll find DenDen Town (the Akihabara of Kansai) close by, as well as a wide range of restaurants around the Dontonbori area. There is a new oval shaped ferris wheel there too. Walk to the end of the shopping arcade and you’ll reach Shinsaibashi, home of all the brand name designers. If you’re Japanese is pretty good then the famous NGK Theatre is home to Yoshimoto where most of the Japanese comedians come from. Of course there is lots more but that’s a few things off the top of my head.

Thanks for the reply, I am fairly certain the query was from me… I am at the Hyatt for the next month until my apartment opens in Kobe. Been here 3 weeks, and have seen all of your suggestions. thanks for the ideas! I am exploring Namba, Kobe and other surrounding areas, but my nightlife is drastically reduced with the limited options here. Any thoughts on good places in Kobe or Namba would be great as well!

I think you’re right. I even have a friend working there, though I am always confused which side of the tunnel things are.

Isn’t there a maritime museum just out on the end of the beach? I seem to remember having walked between it and WTC at one time.
